Form 2 were plunged into the year 60 AD, Roman times today. The Wyatt Hall was turned into a Roman fort occupied by the Roman IX Legion and the children completed work on the fort’s principal buildings.
This included; making Roman medicine, crushing olives to make olive oil, writing messages in wax, making Roman mosaics and visiting the Roman baths.
The afternoon featured a Roman feast and the children participated in Roman entertainment which included a play, Roman dancing and practising Roman soldier battle formations. The pupils had a fantastic day – many thanks to Laura Smith, and the team of staff involved, for organising everything!
