Intrepid Form 2 children eagerly donned compasses for sessions on orienteering and developing map reading skills, at Sayers Croft outdoor activity centre, in Ewhurst.
Despite being one of the coldest days of the year on Tuesday, the enthusiastic children approached the activities with great spirit and determination.
The year group was split into two groups and each took part in activities based following compass directions on a trail around the woods and reading a map to identify different locations on the beautiful, wooded, Sayers Croft site.
They worked together in pairs all morning, to complete the challenges and build on compass skills they have been studying in Maths this week.
It was a resounding thumbs up from the Form 2 children, who all seemed to thoroughly enjoy both activities.
