World renowned polymath and founding father of the United States, Benjamin Franklin said that “all investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” If that is indeed true, Cranleigh Prep School must be in line for a windfall as 12 pupils across Forms 1-4 competed in the area heats of the national Key Stage 2 General Knowledge Quiz Competition.
Three teams of four pupils, one from each of Forms 1-4, took part against 67 other teams from schools across the south of England. Questions covered a great range of knowledge across all subjects taught at Cranleigh Prep (and even some that are not taught – does anyone actually know which youtuber is the most subscribed to in the world?!).
By the end of the quiz, the three Cranleigh Prep teams came in 10th, 15th and 20th out of 70 teams. At least one team will qualify for the next round, with the potential of all qualifying as highest scoring teams in the heats.
Team 1 – 10th place:
Josh G, Gabriella R, Xander DS and Evie J
Team 2 – 15th place:
Oliver R, Tom S, Orlando H and Bruce OC
Team 3 – 20th place
Thomas C, Edmund L, Elijah SH and Harvey PN
Congratulations to all those involved!
