The U13 girl’s netball team finished in the top 8 for the IAPS national netball finals at Bryanston School last Monday. Over 90 schools had entered into the regional qualifying events around the country and just 20 schools gained a place at this National Finals competition.
In the group stages the girls had 4 short matches of 7 minutes each way. They saw wins against Bilton Grange (13-6) and Strathallan School (14-9), a narrow defeat against Cheam School (5-8) and a draw against St Faith’s (7-7). This put them in second place in their box and enabled them to qualify to the knock out stages of the competition. Here they fought a close battle against Copthorne Preparatory School where after a very close first half, Copthorne pulled away by 3 to take the win (7-4) and went on to win the final.
The girls did Cranleigh Prep School proud battling it out in extremely tough conditions against strong competition and with winds up to 50mph on the day. They finished in the top 8 schools in a national competition, rose to the challenge and gave a strong performance as a team. Well done girls!
Thank you also to the parent supporters who had travelled many miles to support the girls in action.
