Many Form 6 actors and technical crew have taken part and contributed to these films in their free time.
We were fortunate to welcome Edward Bennett to Cranleigh last term, an actor who has been directed by Steven Spielberg in the original War Horse in 2011. We were hugely grateful for his time and industry experience, especially when he directed our horse auction scene at the stables.
Edward has recently played Jean De Cambaceres in “Napolean”, but his prolific and busy acting career to date has taken him from the Bond movie “Sky Fall”, to imminent RSC productions of Shakespeare such as Hamlet at the Globe, where he has worked with other greats such as David Tennant.
His TV work, such as Poldark, Cobra, Victoria and Silent Witness just to mention a few, cement him as a really sought-after English actor.
The young Cranleigh film makers learnt a huge amount from him and had a great experience.
After Edward watched the film he wrote saying: “I watched it a few times and I think it is absolutely brilliant! What a great job they did to make it look the way it did.” Edward Bennett
We also released Animal Farm by George Orwell, a huge effort from the Form 6 trainee film makers. The pupils took even more ownership here with the editing and decision making on camera work placements, making it very much a student led film.
Many thanks also to Mr Max Jewell-Smith, our Audio-Visual Services Manager, for his tutoring of the production team to enhance their camera and sound work along with their editing.
We hope you enjoy watching the films below.
