On Wednesday 6th March, CPS played our first official Girls’ football tournaments, within a block of the sport in the scheduled calendar.
Two squads of U12’s and U13’s travelled over to a fantastically well-run festival at Highfield school where the girls showed they already have an aptitude for the sport that, whilst is not surprising, is definitely impressive.
Both squads of girls played a number of matches and failed to lose any, with lots of goals scored to ‘boot’. With many more matches coming and potential to extend the offering in future years, football will follow cricket as another sport within which our girls can excel.
