All year groups have had the opportunity to go on a school residential during the academic year.  Here we hear from Form 3 pupil Evie J about her residential to Mill on the Brue.

As the school bus parked on Mill on the Brue’s land, everyone inside it was buzzing with joy and excitement, and we all bustled around the door to try and squeeze ourselves out and grab our bags. Next, we all got told who we were sharing our dorm with, unpacked and were divided into four different groups (I was in the Robins group – the coolest group, of course!). Then, with much anticipation (and for some, terror) we set off to our first activities!

Activities;
Some of Form 3’s favourite things to do at Mill on the Brue were; kayaking, the assault course and the zip line.
Kayaking was fun because we got to splash our friends with water and go really fast through the lake/river! Everyone loved going on the assault course because it was challenging and we got to race each other! And last but definitely not least (A.K.A my personal favourite!) zip lining! This activity was so fun because we went really high, fast and crazy! (Plus, the teacher’s looked so funny with their tiny parachutes strapped behind them! Sorry guys…) After the activities finished, we got hot chocolates and went to ‘sleep’ (ha ha ha!) in our dorms.

Goodbye Mill on the Brue!
Saying goodbye was so hard but before we left, Leonie and I made up a special dance together that we taught everyone – yes, even the boys… somehow?! Anyways… the cool thing is everyone still remembers the dance and we even do it sometimes! At the end of the week, we set a campfire and told stories and sang songs (for some reason we even spoke to the moon?!). But, the point is, Form 3 had so much fun at Mill on the Brue and at the end of the day, I’m pretty sure everyone can agree that Mill on the Brue was the best residential we’ve been on as a year group! So, thank you Mill on the Brue for everything and thank you teachers for taking us there!
