November at Clifton College.
The day started with a tough game against the host team, to whom the Cranleigh side had lost twice earlier in the term. Playing with great focus, Cranleigh took an early lead and were still a goal ahead at half time; however, Hurst came back very strongly, and managed to score an equaliser, so the score at full time was a 1-1 draw. There then followed four victories in a row for the Cranleigh team, which left them on equal points with Hurst, so the competition was decided on goal difference, meaning Hurst took the title and Cranleigh finished in second place, thus qualifying for the National Finals.
A summary of the day’s matches is as follows: played 5, won 4, drew 1, goals for 12, goals against 1
Alison Jolly, Director of Sport, says ‘Well done to our U13As and U12As – it looks like it will be a busy two days in November for the Cranleigh Prep School girls!’
