This year’s ski trip to Les Menuires was an unforgettable experience for both pupils and staff. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by pristine ski conditions, excellent accommodation, and delicious food that kept everyone energised for the slopes. It was a perfect setting for a week filled with learning, competition, and camaraderie.
Our pupils truly shone both on and off the slopes, displaying exemplary behaviour and determination throughout the trip. A particular highlight was the outstanding performance of James S, whose skill and focus earned him remarkable achievements in the ski competitions. Competing against 119 participants, James secured 3rd place overall in the Giant Slalom (GS). In the U14 categories, his results were even more impressive: 2nd place in the slalom and 1st place in the GS! These accomplishments were a testament to his dedication and talent.
The Girls U14 Junior Parallel Slalom team (Olive K, Zoe R, Hattie B, Hetty W, Betsan L, Emily C-G) also delivered an exceptional performance. After a thrilling series of three races to decide the winners, the team secured a 2nd place overall. Their teamwork and resilience were evident, making us all incredibly proud.
The trip wasn’t just about competition. The pupils relished every moment of skiing, whether they were refining their techniques, tackling challenging runs, or simply enjoying the breathtaking scenery of Les Menuires. Evenings were filled with laughter and bonding, solidifying friendships and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
A huge thank you to the staff and organisers who made this trip such a success, and to our pupils for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Les Menuires ‘24 was an adventure to remember!
