Learning to cook properly is a lifelong skill and it’s equally important for children to understand how different foods affect the body. We hope that by the time the children leave CPS they can not only independently rustle up wholesome, exciting meals, but they also understand and enjoy how to create a healthy, balanced diet.
Pupils in Forms 3 to 6 learn safety, hygiene and nutrition, before tackling simple recipes and gradually building and developing vital culinary skills. They also learn to understand the origins of ingredients, culture and traditions of foods from around the world.
Practical cookery lessons culminate in the Bake Off competition in Form 6.
