The health and wellbeing of our children will always be our number one priority. From the moment they arrive with us, we work hard to make sure that every child knows their voice will be heard. If occasionally things don’t go to plan, our experienced pastoral, health and wellbeing team will be ready to offer a helping hand.
Our Pastoral Leadership Team, which works under the guidance of the Deputy Head Pastoral, consists of Heads of Lower, Middle and Upper School, Head of Years, Matrons, Chaplain and the Safeguarding Team; they meet weekly to discuss the welfare of pupils. In short, every child will know there’s always someone they can turn to for help and support.
Staff and pupils take part in Anti-Bullying Ambassador Training from The Diana Award. This training also gives access to ongoing resources and training for our ambassadors so they can help educate everyone in the school.

Matrons
Matrons are the heart and soul of our pastoral life. In addition to their responsibility for every child’s hygiene, health and wellbeing, they play a big part in making Cranleigh Prep fun, happy and homely. Matrons join us from all walks of life. Some will have worked in boarding schools for many years, others will have had other careers and be joining us because of their passion for supporting young people. We are fortunate to have an outstanding team who give their all for our children.
Medical Centre
Our professionally-equipped medical centre is a haven for children who are suddenly unwell or need ongoing support. The team looks after pupils with conditions such as hay fever, diabetes and asthma, and administers the Child Vaccination Programme in collaboration with our partner GP surgery. The medical centre is staffed by Registered Nurses, 24-hours a day during school hours.
